Wedding Plan
More often than not, brides invest all their time and energy into the look for the big even forget important pre-nuptial functions. The mehendi and the sangeet. This time, we work on styles that a bride can don for these two functions. Trousseau specialist Seema Malhotra shares some tips.
Mehendi
No saris on mehandi please! Bandhini lehengas look great on mehendis. It’s traditional and easy to carry. Ideally, go for green. If green is not your style, choose from pinks, purples and yellows. But do try and sport hints of green in your look on this day. Go light on jewellery, simply, to avoid any mehendi mess. A nice pair of big earrings would do just fine!
Go heavy on the blouse and experiment with halters or strappy cholis. Pink is a lovely colour to wear for a sangeet. Or try bright hues like orange and lime, for a bride is still the focus. One can also wear a stylized sari.
For jewellery, do not load yourself but at the same time avoid being minimalistic. Wear a single nice choker piece that matches your outfit.
Be young, trendy yet comfortable enough to shake a leg during these important days of your life!
